Rainbow Network receives donation from the Buerges staff
Updated: 2015-05-20 16:21:51

(L-R) Keith Jaspers, president and founder of the Rainbow Network, accepts a check from Aaron Buerge, market president of First National Bank, Springfield. With him is his wife, Angye McIntosh Buerge.

The Buerge Family and First National Bank donated $10,000 to The Rainbow Network, an organization headquartered in Springfield that offers assistance to 112 specific semi-rural communities in Nicaragua. The group serves over 42,000 people with feeding centers, healthcare, education, housing and economic development programs.

The check was presented at the Springfield branch by Aaron and Angye Buerge on behalf of Aaron Buerge's parents, Alden and Kathryn Buerge of Joplin who had traveled to Nicaragua to visit directly with both Rainbow Network staff and the people they serve. Representing the Rainbow Network was Keith Jasper, its president and founder.
